In Color is dedicated to the colors we find in nature.
THis collection is the definition of “something my five-year-old could make” because it was a five-year-old’s eyes I tried to get inside. I tried to run around outside and re-discover things I’d seen many times before. I tried to see the colors for what they were and translate them as best I could through paint. I tried to pick out colors that would then became my new favorite color.
My effort in separating colors into easy shapes is to help you, the viewer, to see beyond that color. To see the places in nature where that color could occur, and to then feel as if you are there — TO leave wherever you are and go where that color could be found. These paintings are a refuge from the indoors and an invitation to do our part to keep these colors in our world.
